Mrs. Michelle Swift
Hello! My name is Michelle Swift, and I'm the 6th grade language arts teacher and team leader for the Aviators. This is my 19th year teaching, but my sixth year here at Eastside. I started teaching at my alma mater, North Bullitt High School, in 1998, where I taught English for nine years. Once our children were born, I stayed home with them for 5 years, returning to education as a grant director at Crossroads Elementary for four years before moving to EMS. I am currently the assistant academic team coach, VIP Club and FCA sponsor, & Take Flight leader. I received my bachelor's degree in English teaching from EKU, my master's in education from UL, and completed my second master's as a literacy specialist from The University of the Cumberlands.
I have been married to my husband, Jason, for 21 years and we have three children: Jake, a senior at BE, Drew, a sophomore at BE, & Liz, a freshman at BE. We are very involved with our church and we also keep ourselves busy with our children's sports and extra-curricular activities. I enjoy traveling, reading, running/exercising, playing pickleball, and spending time with family and friends. I LOVE teaching at Eastside Middle and I look forward to having you in my class!
